Through the cold, snow and ice, the public, along with nearly 300 schools, and over 165 corporate and community partners, dropped off thousands of coats from October 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. With this generosity, Coats for Kids surpassed its goal of 60,000 coats with a final collection total of 64,480 coats.<\/p>\n
Promotional Partners FOX25, Jordan\u2019s Furniture, Comcast SPOTLIGHT and WROR 105.7, all played an important role in spreading the word. Thanks to the Supporting Partners Citizens Bank, Package Supply Company and Graham Communications, the School Rewards Program was able to once again award the top schools for their efforts in the collection drive. The Corporate, Community and School Partners played key roles by dedicating their time in organizing collection drives and dropping off coats.<\/p>\n
Once again, our Distribution Partners worked tirelessly to make sure that everyone who needed a coat received one. Our Distribution Partners again included: MASSCAP, Salvation Army, Cradles to Crayons, The Lowell Wish Project, Southern New Hampshire Services, Father Bill\u2019s & Mainspring, Middlesex Human Service Agency, Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Mental Health Association of Greater Lowell, The Community Giving Tree, and Boston University Medical Center: Outreach Van Project among others. We were also proud to have had on board for the first time the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mass Bay, Crittenton Women\u2019s Union, Dianne Devanna Center, Signature Healthcare Foundation, Boston Healthcare for the Homeless program, Taunton State Hospital, Jordan Hospital as well as many other agencies.<\/p>\n
Robyn Frost from the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless sums it up best, \u201cIt is because of Coats for Kids and the customers of Anton\u2019s Cleaners that the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless was able to ensure that hundreds of school aged children could be warm this winter.
