It’s the night she won’t forget, her prom. She is
wearing her beautiful dress, her hair and make-up are perfect,
she looks stunning and now she is ready for one of the most magical
nights of her life. She feels like a princess that night, a night
like no other, one she will cherish for years.
Sponsored by Anton’s Cleaners, a family-owned chain of 43
stores in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire, Belle of the Ball
cleans and distributes prom dresses to high school
junior and senior girls who would otherwise not have the opportunity
to attend their school’s prom.
The 2010 Belle of the Ball collection drive ran
from February 1st to April 8th. Over 4,500 ‘gently
worn gowns,' in a variety of styles and sizes were collected.
Dresses were cleaned free of charge at Anton’s Cleaners
stores throughout the area.
FOX25's report on the 2010 Belle of the Ball boutique
The drive culminated with the sixth annual boutique on
April 17, 2010 at Simmons College in Boston where over 395 girls
received prom dresses. Since the
program began in 2005, more than 1,475 girls have received beautiful
dresses.
We are seeking both in-kind and financial donations for
Belle of the Ball 2011, which will be used to purchase gift certificates
for hair and nail salons, corsages, limo services and other prom
related services. For more information on in-kind donations,
visit the "How
You Can Help" page.
The program’s success is testimony
to the many supporting, promotional,
collection and in-kind partners.
